Reflective Thinking Model - Part 1
Pursuing 'coaching' as a career is a noble profession, but it comes with a huge responsibility. A client has many expectations from the coach. A coach must put in every effort to meet the client's life-changing beliefs, whilst helping the client realise his responsibility and creating a life-transforming perspective in him.

A coach helps the client to overcome the difficulties he is currently facing and achieve a golden future by working on the present situation. To fulfil the obligation, a coach must have result-oriented tools and techniques. One of the most effective tools for producing better results in life coaching is the Reflective Thinking Model, a tool that will make your coaching highly effective, goal-focused and result-oriented. The model provides an excellent framework to yield a positive outcome during coaching sessions.
If you are a leader, you must be aware that, as the head, you need to ensure the people working along with you are productive in work, creative in their tasks, and are able to establish healthy relations among themselves. To accomplish this, you need not only have to be a good leader but also a good coach. You have to support the encourage, guide and inspire them to perform better.
Albeit you are not a coach or a leader, the reflective thinking model enables you to transform your personal and professional life. It helps to remove the negative thoughts and simultaneously infuse positivity. It aids in developing a strategic action plan to achieve your dreams. In short, it helps you get in control of your thoughts and life.
Let us contemplate the eight aspects of the reflective thinking model.
1. Evidence Hunt:
What evidences do you have to support this thought? Are these evidences enough to reach the conclusion? What evidences do you have against this thought?
2. Searching for What You Believe (Look for Presuppositions)
What are your presuppositions? What needs to be true to make this thought a fact?
3. Find Out the Brain Process
What happens inside you when this thought comes in your mind? What images, sounds and feelings do you experience when this thought pops up?
4. Explore Your Contribution to the Problem
What is your participation in making the thought real? How do you realize it?
5. Look for positive intention hidden behind the problem
What is the positive aim behind this thought?
6. Being aware of the results (What will be the results?)
What are the short term results of this thought? What are the long term results of this thought? What are the results of the results of this thought? Imagine, you are at your death-bed, looking back, would you be happy with this thought?
7. Envisage your ideal life
What kind of ideal life do you want to live? Is this thought allowing you to live your ideal life?
8. Strategies
What strategies do you have to deal with this thought? What options do you have? What actions do you want to take? Take opposite thought & think about how to make it real? (My life is a failure - My life is a success.)
